Hi, Guys I am new to this Forum.
I have a big Problem with my Notebook. I bought it with the typically Win8 Software and did a Reset with a WIN7 Home Installation.

Everything went fine, till I recognized yesterday, that my Optical Drive doesn't load any Disc anymore.
It is recognized in Win7 and it says Device working.
It try to run several times and stops after 5seconds. Doing this 4-5 times it drops the Disc and says: Please Insert Disc in Drive.

I read a view Threads in here and wanted to update all my drivers. But there appears a next problem.
By installing WIN7 I tried to get rid of the annoying SW updater. But It seems that here is still fraction working on the system, which doesn't allow to install a SW Update again.
Is there any chance to get completely rid of the old - non working SW Update Fracture, to install a completely new one, to renew all drivers, so that perhaps my Optical Drive would work again?

I know, lots of mess, but perhaps anyone knows help ;)

Clean the lens of the drive, if nothing else dust the lens with a micro-fiber cloth, or even a napkin.

    Thanks for your reply.
Yesterday I opened the back of the Notebook and wanted to see if I can see some loose cable or something.
If I wanted do clean the lens of the lens of the drive, I would have to take the whole drive out of the notebook and try to open the drive?
I do not know if I can do that, without having some screws in the end, which I don't know where to put them anymore ;(

So you think it is no Chipset/SATA Advice problem?

Didn't notice that it was a slot loading drive.
When CD drives where common you could buy cleaning CD's from lots of places, like this:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/DVD-VCD-CD...162203?hash=item4410e420db:g:x40AAOSwy~BaFT~Y

Maybe when the lockdown is removed shop around, or order one.
That behaviour is usually caused by dirty lens, because it can't even detect that there is a cd/dvd in there and asks to insert a disk because none was recognized.

    Thanks!
I disassembled the notebook completely, opened the dvd drive, cleaned the lenses an put everything together again.
The drive could run the original WIN7 DVD so I could set the system up new, but the drive has some random factor in what it plays and what not.
It even differs in the format. there can be dvd which are played and some run in a problem.
