My 5160 is a 2011 model. Still working with windows 7, knock on wood.
But, today I came home and noticed the right side hinge is not in its slot or something. I cracked the back plate as it is binding when opening. Is this easy to repair, and get to or is it something that has to be done in a reputable shop?

It depends on what is going on, it needs to be dismantled to find what is damaged in the hinge assembly.

I would touch base with your seller first. If parts are still available, they (or Sager) can source them and handle repairs. If not, fair chance you can find parts online (after you verify what's broken).

I would talk to them yes as it should not be horrendous price wise if you want to keep it running.
