This was a really brilliant release ... my hats off to HP.;) Acer and Asus could really learn a thing or two from this company. By offering such a deep discount on the day of the release, HP really generated a critical mass of orders for its new product and a helluva lot of excitement for its brand. I wasn't even buying any of the newly released models and I was swept up in it. When I saw those prices, I had to restrain my credit card even though I did't want any of the models being released.

Unlike the other two companies, it had its products ready for market on time. Not just in a catalogue like Asus or released in small backwater markets like Acer. The free public relations exposure for the new lines is sure to warm the hearts of their marketing people and the executives when they look at Q2 sales figures.

My hope is that they do the same thing when the Envy 14 is released. I will be standing in line to give them my hard earned $$$ if I don't have a 3820TG or XPS 13 by then (which I probably wont:( ). Cudos to HP.

Why did hp priced this two models almost the same? isn't the G line supposed to be lower end, and the DV's mid range. I just compared the pricing of this two systems withe the same specification and both come up to almost the same price for some reason HP doesn't offer free shipping with the G42T.

Student discount makes the dv6 affordable <1000 with 2 year HP ADH.

Question is are there reviews for the dv6 yet, and how is HPs total care?
