I recently replaced the fan for my CPU in my i9300 because my old one made an annoying noise (bad bearing I think). The fan I got to replace it was identical in shape and build, etc, and seems to work fine.

I'm not too sure how hot my GPU use to get, but now everytime I play Call of Duty 2, I notice the temperature gets as high as 65-67. It steadily goes down after closing the game, but the air being blown out is really hot, not warm.

I use the I9k fan program for dell laptops, but for some reason even though I set the fans to come on at 40 degrees, they never do. I sometimes turn them both on manually on high when I play games because of this heat problem.

What is the normal temperature the GPU should get after playing a graphics-intense game like COD2? Is 65 degrees anything to worry about or am I paranoid? I can't tell if it's paranoia or not because I never really noticed how hot the chip got before I installed the new fan.

    Any info would be great.

depends on what GPU you have.

I have the X300 64mb, and my temp is usually around 40 degrees.

Oops, forgot to tell that bit.

I've got the GeForce 6800 Go processor. It's not overclocked or anything.

Mine has hit as high as 77C on my laptop. At that point my fans kick into high gear to get that heat out of the case. I have a 7900GS and it would be when playing either Need For Speed: Carbon or Half-Life 2: Episode 1
