A few weeks ago all the bass from my headphones suddenly disappeared. I have tried all the solutions under the sun that I could find:

    1. Disabled all sound enhancements
    2. Reinstalled Realtek drivers
    3. Tried out latest realtek drivers from realtek website
    4. Reset my PC and reinstalled everything.
    5. Checked out multiple different headphones and their respective cabling.
    6. Played with equalizers.
    7. Even bought a portable amp to see if using that would make a difference.

The end result is still the same. Everything sounds tinny now. Only with headphones plugged in though. I also have bluetooth speakers and they don't sound anything different. Everything else about the laptop is devoid of any issues. This has happened to me in the past with my older alienware laptops but they always reverted back to normal whenever I reinstalled my audio drivers. This time nothing seems to make a difference. I have seemingly run out of things to try.

    Any suggestions?

Try the headphones with your phone or another computer?

Wow, that is weird. Have you had your ears checked out? Nah, seriously, the only thing I can think of is the socket and maybe it's got some sort of resistance that is attenuating the signal? Have you tried USB 'phones?
