I am still waiting for my test results. Got me tied up in knots all week.

Suck it up. Not everyone takes sarcasm or criticism well. Don't let their nastiness ruin your parade. If the OP was that upset, its because they were a spoiled little loner who wanted all the attention.

Yeah, I just said it and I meant it. All you delicate little snowflakes out there better remember that mom, dad, little league coaches, and moderators will NOT always be there to make it all better when the teachers, the bosses, and the whole of the internet come down on you for behaving like a 2 year old.

    Stupid m*****f******...

    His 666 time.
That whole sub-forum is nearly all left one sided.

    Three themes of stupid I see propagating here;

In a world increasingly sensitive to gender inequality, the trend of those calling for "hate" speech and themes to be removed from public discourse and even academic discussion seems to be regressing towards what was traditionally called "paternalism" (we need those in power to protect us from the meanies)

Should avoiding discussion of views deemed potentially too disturbing or capable of causing upset to some mean we should never discuss the Holocaust and the thousands of documentaries (on permanent repeat on the History Channel) be expunged from the public record?

How is anyone supposed to learn and develop when protected from the world and all it's nastiness. I learned to deal with being called four-eyes all through primary school and draw strength from the subtext of "rofl, that's the best you can do"?

Spent my the time of my last post to the time of this post dealing with out ruptured water heater. Damn pipes on the inside corroded then exploded on Sat about 5am. Lots of moving things around and getting stuff dry. The only saving grace is the house is a rental so the property management had plumbers and water damage specialists work overtime this weekend to get it all repaired.

Still not the way I wanted to spend my 4 day weekend.
The breadth of my anger is directed towards the parents who demanded my instructors be fired (they did get a 30-day suspension) because they make our physics course "too hard", "not kid-friendly", and "not a warm and safe learning environment". Bear these things in mind:
    1. This is a junior college, ergo their children are college students.
    2. These are sophomore level college physics courses meant specifically for physicists and engineers.
    3. These parents complained directly to our governing board, and made the same grievances about the calculus program.

Jordan B. Peterson reckons universities are going to crash hard, harder than Print Media, because of the degradation in quality of education following the primacy of feels over knows.

I've personally observed both extremes; Melbourne Uni in early 2000's was treating international full-fee paying students with kid gloves, *passing* them because of their poor language skills and inability to demonstrate a knowledge of the course. Because at the time an economic rationalist conservative government was cutting government funding back and encouraging commercialisation of tertiary education. Then I tutored kids at a private college doing 1st-year biochemistry, having not done any chem or biol since year 10 at school, and the course was essentially the entirety of the 1st and 2nd year biochemistry I studied (four semesters of 3 lecture and 3 tutorial hours/week) crammed into one semester, with 4 lecture hours a week. And their lecturer had a very think Indian accent. Of course repeating meant another tuition fee prepayment...

If increasingly convincing diploma mills don't make them meaningless first.

IMO I’m more concerned with technical schools (legit community college vs ITT Tech types) and people flooding the market with STEM majors (depressing salaries) rather than universities themselves.

Ordered yet another computer off eBay. Shipped on January 10 with an estimated delivery date of January 12 (I doubted that). Was not delivered on January 12 and has been listed as "In-Transit, Delayed" on USPS's website since Saturday afternoon. No tracking update since then.
