Both should work just fine, though nvidia might need driver .inf file modding.

Ok in that case i think i'd take the M290X :)... how is the reliability of the M290X cards, i know that 6970M/6990M were ticking timebombs and 7970M werent that reliable either, are design problems solved in M290X?

I've never had the 7970m troubles others experienced, luckily, so maybe i'm not of the best opinion. But the m290x is a very mature design (to be expected, after 2 rebrands) and I expect it's very stable.

They do, its just a matter of vBios, but you would prefer the Clevo variants as DELL versions of these MXM cards are the much lower quality cards. they will most likely die after 1-2 years possibly sooner, if flashed a few times.
    But the prices are great!

I have had three reported dell card failures so far (and a few incompatibles that should have been compatible but worked in other machines). This was over a total of, I think about 40 cards. Never sold clevos, so I don't know. I've never had a card personally fail on me, but I'm very nitpicky when it comes to grounding, care, cooling, etc.

Anyway, the m290x has been reserved for maxslo. One 860m left in stock.

are you going to be getting any more GTX 680M cards? also, any idea if the m290x will work in a Dell M6600?

Sorry, I've no idea when and what stock will be coming in. I'm not sure if the m290x works in m6600, but the 7970m definitely does, so there's a good chance the m290x does too. I'll drop you a PM if I get any stock usable for your machine.

Unfortunately, the only one I have left is a defective m290x :(
And no news on getting any new cards anytime soon. Sorry.
