The OP has some issues with BIOS/GOP incompatibility prevent the upgrade kit from working!

    $1155USD right ?

Anyways, seems one of two things, either the nv is tripped or it literally has no video boot device.

This is odd because the chipset should support older cards too, however I haven't tested any with it myself.

did you try contacting EUROCOM support ? It should be that they checked with you how you will use this upgrade to make sure it is appropriate for you.

Silly these big laptops do not allow the HD intel graphics, because that could be an asset here. Think it's the chipset that has the feature locked if I recall same on desktops, like highEr end means less features sometimws~!

I'd contact EUROCOM and ask them, they can replicate the situation and determine what the fix is or provide solutions. They keep plenty of extra older models for testing cases just like this.

Thanks, got it all working. Had to flash the 1080's to the updated GOP. They were originally 0x30002 . . . I also find it strange older cards are not recognized. Eurocom support said MXM 3.0 cards are not supported, only MXM 3.1. The difference between the two is PCI-e 2.0 and PCI-e 3.0, but they are pin compatible and should be backwards/forwards compatible . . . so maybe it's a bios thing? Why create hardware that physically/electrically supports older cards, but then lock them out with firmware?

Do these laptops have the MUX switch required for switching between discrete and integrated graphics?

Just for MXM cards or whole desktop GPUs as well? I mean people looking for RTX GPU on Skylake or Kabylake 7700k or similar will need updated BIOS, right?

There were some changes on desktop too and vbios updates to show boot screens but the process is a little less complex.
