It sure seems like the only card even worth considering is the 2080Ti. The 2080 seems like a bust to me. Even if enough games come out with Ray Tracing do you really want to drop back down to 1080p to play them at good framerates? I would imagine it will be 2 years or so before games are consistently released with Ray Tracing and that's how long it will take before GPU's can really push them at 4k and more than 60FPS. I don't know, 1080ti and 2080ti look like the cards to get. It's all about about price and patience.

Same with people who want the card. Why pay the premium if the results don't back it up. Rather just wait then.

Yeah great they have RAY TRACING!.. but wait, no game out right now is using it. Oh and wait previous demos showed you have to play at 1080p to even get 60fps, NICE.

So what are we left with? Traditional rendering, and even here these cards aren't even surpassing pascal the way Nvidia "predicted". What was it, like 50% performance increase? Yikes.

RTX is novelty range right now until next console gen when devs have incentive to build ground up for it.

Just followed someone to this thread;)
Just received my RTX 2080 for eGPU setting i didn’t feel performance difference at this point compared to 1080ti eGPU, pretty similar but after benchmarks out I want that ti;), yes it’s not like Pascal Maxwell difference. But hey we’re have new champion:cool: now that pretty similar with €3000 Titan V on gaming performance, can’t
wait till windows update the new directx to maximize this new architecture capability. Rtx on off, Hype for new toy:bigrolleyes:

All of the reviews show that the 2080 and 1080ti are very familiar in performance.

It’s true at this point. That’s also why I’ll return my 2080fe and wait my 2080ti Asus, not worth €250 upgrade (sold my 1080ti €600) only for rtx and dsll that doesn’t exist yet. I’ll prefer better 30% raw performance even that translates another +€410.
