very very interesting.... looks to be like a viable (hopefully cheap as it is an inspiron) laptop that despite being dual core can replace the XPS 1521 which hasn't or may not be refreshed

very nice design on this new Inspiron :)

in October new Xps with Haswell and GTX Gpu comes !!!!

Wow......ive been looking for new alienware 17....but its so pricey................i wait to new Xps instead

ps---- I BLOODY HATE TOUCH SCREENS......I HATE IT

this TN screens have always less blackness and colour gamut. (who in hell want touch when you game ????)

i kill myself if new Xps have touch screen......bloody windows 8 functionality.

why? just because the screen is touch doesn't mean you have to use it.

Precisely, touch and display quality don't go hand in hand in the sense that you can have touch on both good or crap displays. Just because touch is there, it doesn't mean that you have to use it, I can definitely understanding wanting a display with better gamut and IPS. Now, it's possible that to cut cost and keep touch, Dell went for a lower quality display. However as much as I consider touch on a traditional laptop to be a gimmick, if the other requirements are there including display quality, touch functionality won't make it a no go for me.

    Is it your speculation?
Have you some links about that?

Watching better the new Inspiron it seems Dell is using the same chassis of actual XPS and maybe they are solved XPS throttling issue using ULV CPU
