    Basic DVD-R Drive.
    ==========

    I am pretty experienced with laptops, so feel free to get a little techy on me. Now I'm going to be getting this for Christmas, what I've looked at so far is the Asus g53sx-a1, and i may be set on it. I just want some further insight on whether or not there's other choices. This is going to be used heavily for gaming, and some school work keep in mind...

    Sager's 8150 (from Malibal or Xotic, or from the Canadian resellers).

    Or 8130 if you want.

    Alright, I cancelled my order with Amazon because I was looking around on Xotic's website, and there's some customizable asus's that I might get. I'll fill you in on it probably tonight, to tell you which one interests me...

    Why get a G74 when you can just as easily afford a VX7 with the same graphics card? ;) I think it's still on preorder though.

    Think again....

    There are several different models. The 1.5GB, 2GB (128 bit) and 3GB

    I can show you proof if you want. The 2GB model is the worst because of the decreased bus size.

    They only exist in the G53, but I have a 128-bit 460M (essentially same card) with only 1 GB vRAM.
