    Hi all,

I have an Aorus 15G (RTX3080 version) coming next week - are there any key things I need to be aware of with it, such as certain settings on any Aorus software etc.?

I'll be replacing the 1TB NVME with a 2TB one immediately, and also installing a secondary 2TB NVME as well; I'm guessing there's no need replacing the 2 16GB RAM modules, or even upgrading to 64GB...?

    Thanks all!

Really comes down to power allotment of the 3080. More power = More performance and 30xx sucks up juice quite a bit to perform where its been at on desktops...

Recently purchased the 3070 version and I'm seriously impressed. Yes the GPU TDP is limited to 105w but the balance of cooling, power, noise and compactness is seriously impressive. Also helps that the exterior is quite understated.

The only downside on my machine is the 512Gb SSD. Many reviews complain about the battery life but I'm always connected while working or playing. And even then the battery life is not bad, just not "impressive".

I've had a bit of a bad run with MSI and Dell gaming laptops over the last 5yrs so it's refreshing to have a device with no major drawbacks out of the box. It is missing a few nice-to-haves like thunderbolt and the HDMI directly connected to the GPU but it has a mux-switch and a standard global 2yr warranty. Just ticks all the right boxes

Since both the 3070 and 3080 versions of the 15g are 105 watt TGP i'd expect any graphic performance gains to be based on the cuda cores/rtx cores only. 32gb is PLENTY for these machines.. I'd have been fine with 16gb.

I've got the 3080 model in for review and it's probably one of the better laptops I've tested in awhile. Especially if you want a MUX and appreciate thermals with the ability to scale the fans for a quieter at-load gaming experience.
