Campground situation where modem is located 100 meters from rv i stay in. Its direct line of site with no obstructions. Cannot run ethernet cable due to active road. Is it doable with standard wifi router? I know they make special setups for distance but the cost is not feasable.

Did you consider a directional antenna? Flat panel of parabolic mounted on the outside of your RV would probably be best but maybe an internal one would suffice.
That's between $20 and $50 depending on if it's an indoor one or not and on the gain.

Your router would have to have external antennas with RP-SMA connector (it's a standard connector for router antennas in case you're wondering).

How fast link do you need? Couple old routers that are dd-wrt or similar compatible, configure them as a wireless bridge and a directional antenna on both. Home made directional antenna like in the video above works but I'd only keep such thing indoors.
