    Hi guys!!!

I recently got my intel g2 ssd, it is the 160gb version.

I have an m11x with A5 bios everything up to date, fresh install.

I get these results while running my laptop normally:

But in safe mode I get these results:confused:    : (double random 4k reads)

My laptop is in ahci mode, the bios says so. My antivirus is bitdefender 2010 total security and I installed the intel rapidstorage driver. I have 62 processes running while idle :p.

    A curious note:

If I enter to the device manager and select the ide ata/atapi controller and select the standar driver and then reboot, I get almost the same results like in safe mode BUT I get a HIGH cpu usage almost 60%.

What should I do???? The speed is good enough but you know I want to get what I paid for...

    Thanks in adavnce guys!!!:D :D :D :D

I'm not seeing what the problem is...? Your speeds are all faster than Intel specs

The problem is the 4k random read.

It is at half the speed...:( The first results are from a day to day scenario, the second one is my laptop in safe mode and the third one is by unistalling the intel driver but it creates a HUGE cpu usage (I dont know why).

Doesn't anyone find it odd that in the span of a single week, we have had at least 3 different threads about owners with issues with their SSD performance?

Either it's just a huge coincidence or a massive conspiracy...

Aren't SSDs supposed to be MORE reliable than HDDs?

    LMAO!!!! huge conspiracy lol

    NONONONO!

I would NEVER use an HDD again! but this issue is driving me crazy, I believe there is a service turned on or off and it is causing this problem.

In fact my SSD is working MORE than perfect in safe mode, but in normal mode it has issues :p.

Ahh, right. My bad ;) I dun didn't lern to reed no gud.

It's obviously something to do with the Intel drivers. It may have something to do with TRIM? I don't know for sure, though.

    Yeah 11MB/sec is poor for a 160GB Intel G2.

    Try running AS SSD benchmark.

Was it a new or used G2 when you bought it?

Have you turned off indexing and system restore - both of those slowed down mine initially - after those were off trim ran smooth and the performance picked back up again. My 4k writes stay right around 20. Normally I'm updating (syncing) a 10+GB folder about every two weeks. Plus normal usage with office products, internet, music etc. Been doing fine for almost 6 months.
Also assuming you've updated to the latest firmware.
