I just bought this laptop and it has Win 8.1. I want to reformat (and add a partition) the drive and install Win 10 clean. Is there a guide for this laptop? I couldn't find one. Are there any special drivers I need to download before I get started? Any special precautions I need to take? TIA

Windows 10 usually has all the drivers you need to get internet and stuff going while it downloads the rest from the internet. I would however recommend downloading new Graphicsdrivers once you installed windows 10.

To get windows 10 on the notebook:
    - Download windows 10 iso
    - Download rufus
    - Create a bootable USB drive (at least 8GB drive) with rufus and the windows 10 image file, GPT UEFI.
    - Put USB drive into your notebook and install it like every other windows 10 version.
    - Let windows install itself, make partitions if you need etc. the whole thing is rather easy, just follow instructions from the installer etc.
    - Once windows 10 is installed and booted up, let the notebook stay turned on for around 1 hour, it will automaticly download drivers in the background and install them
    - upgrade graphicsdrivers
    - Enjoy your reformated system.

Thanks for the reply (and including the settings for Rufus). That's basically what I was going to do. I just remembered from years ago with the HDX that there were certain files/drivers I needed from HP. As far as the graphics go, are you suggesting I download the drivers from HP or find them from Intel and Nvidia? Also, something weird wireless N is not working. The option is not in the driver options. I'm hoping its just a driver issue. I went to Realtek and I couldn't find where to download a new driver. Are there instructions for replacing the wireless card with an AC card?
