    Hi everyone,

I have a Lenovo Y710 that I got sometime early last year. I’ve used it for a while now without any problems. But it started shutting itself down automatically. I called a techie friend and the local store and they both seem to think the PSU is not meeting the minimum required power for the 1080 build. Apparently, it needs 500W while mine only supplies 450W. I can’t find one from my local Lenovo support so I have to get one from the global supplier.

After going around for a while I’ve started thinking of doing it myself. Has anyone here upgraded their PSU on their own. Any success story would be helpful. I’m looking to upgrade to 650W and above. Any recommendations for a PSU that would fit into the Lenovo Y710 Cube?

Looks like a standard PSU design from looking at a tear down video, should be no issue in swapping it out. Since that is a very small form factor make sure you get a fully modular design PSU to save on cable management and headaches.

Can't find the PSU form factor listed anywhere. You might run into the issue of a replacement PSU being too deep to fit, and the mounting holes being in different positions. Your Y710 uses an AcBel PC7033-EL4G, Lenovo FRU: 54Y8987. New high-end models apparently have a 625W AcBel 54Y8982. Lenovo seems to have made a mistake by selling GTX 1080 models with a power supply that weak.
