The 128GB Lite-On SSD that came with my Samsung Series 9 notebook (NP900X3E-A02US) has gone bad.

Can anyone suggest a good replacement model for it?

Should I get a Samsung branded one instead? I'd like to get a 256GB or 512GB size.

I've seen the Samsung EVO models mentioned many times on this forum over the years, would that perform noticeably faster than the Lite-On model that came with the laptop?

Would all EVO models be compatible with my laptop? I know there's models 840, 850, 860 out there. Is there a big difference between them?

Also, what type of SSD do I need to look for? Is it mSata only? And what type of interface? Is it SIII only?

Would M.2 or PCIe drives fit in my laptop? I'm seeing all these different types of SSD's listed on a google search, so I'm confused.

Sorry for all the questions, I don't know much about hard drives.

Also, I'm not a superuser. I mainly only surf the net, stream videos, and do some light Excel work. So maybe I wouldn't need a top of the line SSD? I would still be open to one though if it could really help improve the speed of net surfing, bootup, those sort of things.

Thanks for any help you can provide!
