    I recently bought a used CF-29 MK5 and when I got it it is missing the cover plate that is right above the battery cover. Is it just a cover plate or is there something supposed to be in there?
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks
    Van

    That is the WWAN blank cover. The P/N info is below so you can order it from Heartland Services (913)-685-8855

    If the unit is missing that piece...take a glance inside with battery in. If you see a connector above the battery (facing toward you)...and the unit has a wwan antenna in the lid corner.....the missing piece is a sled.
    Put a blank cover from techtuff in there and don't worry about it.
    Your complete model number would "tell the tale".

    Thanks for the help guys. I will snap a picture tomorrow and post it. To answer your questions Sadlmkr, yes there is a connector above the battery facing out and it has the antenna in the corner. The complete model # is CF-29NTQGTBM. Is that where the wireless network card should be?
    Thanks again,
    Van

    Yup. Western term. :)
    N=Mk5 PentiumM 778 802.11a,b,g TPM
    T=Touch
    Q=80GB drive- 512 Ram
    G=Floppy- Ethernet
    T= " " " Edge(Cingular)
    B=XPP COA I think.
    M=North America
    If you used a WWAN, what carrier would it be?
    Any sled including my GPS mod would fit.
    Sorry for the top of the head bit here...I'm cooking dinner.
    Does the touchscreen work?

    Jeff glad to help and welcome

    No, that is where the Cingular Edge sled mounts. IOW, WWAN.

    The wireless network card, Intel 802.11a+b+g, is accessed by removing the bottom of the case.
