^need help conecting my surround on my XPS M1530!^

    I can't really find any sound drivers to uninstall...i think i might be looking in the wrong place. Where can I find it? and which on is it?

    In 'device manager' under ''system devices" i see high definition audio controller....is that the one i have to uninstall?

    I believe it's the one under

    Device Manager>Sound, Video, and game controllers>SigmaTel HD Audio CODEC

    First of all...i dont have anything that has to do with sigmatel....second...i keep uninstalling the sound driver and when i restart or even after like a minute or 2...the computer automatically downloads the driver again and installs it...i dont know what to do...im making this so complicated...also...i am still getting the error..

    Ok. I finally got the Sigmatel Driver to install and work. Now, when I plug in the 3 cables infront of the laptop...the sigmatel device window where the 3 holes appear, show up to be working, but I still get no sound and everything seems to be plugged in correctly. Let me know what this is about please..

    Did you do this already?

    Also, you could check...
    Right click on sound icon
    select "playback devices"
    Make sure "Speakers/Headphones" says "working"

    Also, you need to set the ports to the surround sound options by right clicking on each port in the sigmatel manager.

    I did all this and im still not getting any sound. That is realy weirddd.....the subwoffer is ''on'' and everything is connected right.
