I believe I am having eye problems because of the glossy screen I have been using for the past 3 years. Another problem is it is nearly useless in a bright, out door setting.

Please recommend a laptop with a matte screen and good battery life. Thanks

Does it have to be 11"? Most 11" notebooks are 11.6". If you can go another .4", you'll have some good choices like the X201 or 2540p.

I agree with Zaz. There won't be much price difference (maybe ~$50?) in the slightly larger size, and you will have much more options in the 11.6-13" range.

I was considering the Levono x100e a while back. I played with it at Fry's a few times. The price is reasonable and the size is right. The matte screen is very nice, way better than the glossy screen I am using. The keyboard and trackball are the best I have used. However, the poor-performing single core AMD cpu and poor battery life stopped me from buying it.

Does Levono offer anything else similar but with the intel platform?

Yes; Lenovo offers the Thinkpad X200 series, which has 12.1" matte displays at 1280x800 resolution. There are various different models--the older X200 with Core 2 Duo, the X200s with an LV C2D and the newer X201 and X201i with Arrandale proccessors.

I have seen the X201i (which has a Core i3) around for $850ish.
