With the purchase of this new laptop, I have found a problem that I'm having difficulty fixing.

Before, I was always using a 32-bit OS, so I always used Free Zonealarm. Unfortunately, it's a 32-bit only program and won't install on this computer. Now I need something to replace Zonealarm that is 64-bit and hopefully free.

Thanks in advance to those who can help me with this problem.

I checked for that, but I read that Zone Labs decided to quit work on Zonealarm 64-bit and is only focusing on their 32-bit version.

Comodo and Online Armor are your best bets.

Online Armor is still 32-bit only unfortunately.
With Comodo Firewall however, you can have the strongest firewall available (free or paid-for).
It currently comes in the Comodo Internet Security all-in-one package but the optional AV part isn't on par with other free AV's like Avira or Avast.
    I don't recommend installing it.
Also make sure not to install the toolbar, it's only for Comodo to make some money.
Comodo firewall and it's HIPS Defense+ combined offer very strong protection but at a price.
You will have to learn how to use it otherwise you will go bonkers because of all the D+ popups.
There are extensive helpfiles available in the firewall itself, make sure to read them on how to use this program.
If you do, you'll have the best/strongest one available. :)
    Cheers.

I would just stick to Vista's....Comodo messed around with my permissions on files on another laptop and that was a big no no.....:D I would stick to Vista and concentrate on a decent AV and scumware program like BitDefender or NOD32, Kaspersky, etc..

I also recommend Comodo Firewall Pro (free version). I use it with Defense+ turned off.
