Actually, looking at your laptop & spec, its quite tempting too. GTX 1080 + all those optionals you add in.
How much is the final cost of yours? The base price is around 2,400 USD.

And with such spec, how long do you think it will last?
Since a laptop most probably wont last as long as desktop.

I'm also considering gtx 1060 now, since soon there will be new things coming.
Unfortunately I can't wait until next year. So I'm thinking to buy a cheaper one and shorten the next upgrade cycle.

I can allocate the budget to upgrade the ram, ssd, hdd, paste, etc instead.
Maybe i5 too since a lot of people said that its plenty enough for gaming.

    Any feedback on this?

Yeah that sounds like a plan, get a mid ranged one now, then save up money for the time when the new ones come, then you can sell the one you just got and go up in laptop when the time and funds come.

    Be smart...be like Phoenix... :eek::rolleyes:

That looks pretty sweet too. Dominator = last gen High End MSI? I'm also curious.
Spec wise is similar to MSI GE63VR 7RF Raider-075 (Current Mid Level).

Anyway, just found out about Samsung Odyssey.
Looks pretty sweet but only have 1050 =(

Lenovo Legion looks nice too (1060), but given my experience with Lenovo (Yoga), the fan would go full on randomly (rarely).
Sometimes by simply turning it on. Once it does this, performance would be considerably slower too.
It randomly happens & also randomly fix itself. Weird stuff.

Ah, the dilemma of choosing a gaming laptop ><

For similar specs (1060 etc / 1070 etc), who has the best cooling system between MSI, Asus, Acer and other brands if you want to include them?

And is there a guideline on how to pick the optimum customization?
E.g. Using 64gb of RAM with GTX 560M would be overkill OR maybe using GTX 1080 with a 4gb RAM laptop (Assuming it exist).
Some says that 1060 with the right addition can perform better than standard 1070.
But since idk whats optimal, I dont want to waste money & ended up getting a bottle neck performance.

While asking this, I found http://thebottlenecker.com/
    Is that reliable to check?
    MSI GE63VR 7RF Raider-075 has 11% bottle neck
Same case with MSI GT62VR Pro Dominator-239 (11% too)

But will that really limit the game that much??Please do tell.
Also at this price strictly(under 1700$) i think this is the best that could be found!
Other choices include Asus GL502vs or 702vs but they have poor/cheap build quality and high thermal issues. So
i dont think they are worth it!
And i dont know any other laptops with 1070 at this price range right now !(Except Sager which is not considered at all)

With your budget and specs, you might be better off shopping in the used section, where there are some really good deals with warranties still!.
