Should I do a clean install of 64 bit or just upgrade from vista home premium 64bit? Would there be a performance increase with a clean install? If it is then installing all the apps/games is going to be so time consuming! =(

Yes a clean install is better if you have the time. Upgrading means some remnants of the previous are still in your registry thereby bogging you down.

I did the math and thought to myself, the performance boost isn't worth it in my case to reinstall every friggin single application.

If you really like to squeeze every ounce of performance possible out of your OS, like I do, then a clean install would be a lot better. I gained 5 - 10FPS in Crysis with a clean install of Windows 7 over my old Windows Vista.

Impossible. All you possibly gain is a slightly faster boot due to a cleaner registry if your previous Windows registry was a mess.

You probably used older drivers on your upgrade or you simply miss tested.

Heh, I lost 2 fps. But I'm still using RC.

No. It was because Vista was an absolute mess of Toshiba bloatware, and I'm assuming OP has bloatware too.
