I was gonna post this at some point (but note I'm in Australia with the different power plug). My AW15R3 came with the same one without a blue ring which surprised me given the videos I saw online. My R3 has a 1060 though.

Oddly though, my Dell 7559 with a 960m came with the blue LED charger so I was a bit disappointed that my AW didn't come with something similar since it makes charging at night easier!

The 1060 comes with 180W psu. Is written into shopping chart when you buy a new Alienware, just click "Detail".

I was gonna say...Mine came with a 240W adapter, but I did get he 1070 model. I would call them and see if you can get the 240W instead...

I also got a standard 180w (no blue ring) with my 17 R4 with GTX1060.

15R3 1070 with UHD 4K screen. Mine came with the Dell 240W with blue ring. MFG by Delta Electronics.

Based on this thread it seems the determinant isn't the model of laptop but rather whether it's a GTX 1060 or 1070.

1070 gets the higher wattage with the blue LED ring.

My first 17 r4 6820hk 1070 came with that 180w charger and would tell me to check the charger when I booted up the system and suggested I use the 240w one
