It has been an ongoing issue. Reinstalled drivers and this time it's just not coming back.

What is a good card to upgrade to with a significant improvement over 1535 ?

Killer 1650 or Intel AX200's are some decent cards.

Open up your MSI notebook and look to see if the 2 antenna wires are connected to the 1535.Also check that the wireless card is fully seated in the M.2 slot.

I had replaced a 1525 in an MSI GS60 with an Intel 9260 and then upgraded the 9260 with a Killer AX1650 when they were first released several months ago.

The Intel AX200 can be found on Amazon for about $20 while the Killer AX1650 is about $35.They are the same card with different branding.

EDIT:to get the benefits of a AX WiFi 6 wireless card you will need to pair it with a quality AX WiFi 6 router that can be a bit pricey as all new tech is until it goes mainstream.

Although using the card on WiFi 5 (802.11AC) still permforms really well specially if its a wave 2 device where instead of getting 866Mbps you could get 1300Mbps or even 1733Mbps if it has 160hz.

    Yep,I got 1733 Mbps pairing a Netgear R7800 router(IMO best AC router) with an Intel 9260ac,Killer 1550ac and a WiFi 6 Killer AX1650.

The R7800 and it's predecessor a Netgear 1900 plus the ac wireless cards are now just gathering dust.

Once I paired the Killer AX1650 with a Netgear RAX120 WiFi 6 router the theoretical Data Rate went up to 2400 Mbps. Most noticeable is the increase in file transfer speeds between devices on the home network.

The signal came back all on its own. I don't know what's going on. If it has been patched by the update process or a reboot, or what.
