    Hi NBR users!
Now that mobile Coffe Lake CPUs are out, I have came to the point where I think it is time to buy a high end laptop.
The important things for me are:
    1) door to door warranty between the seller and my address in the European Union
    2) high refresh rate screen for which the seller offers dead pixel warranty
    3) excellent cooling
    4) premium quality parts
    5) optimal software to prevent microstuttering caused by bad software
    6) I could add my own RAM and SSD without the seller nullifying the warranty

    I have selected 2 laptops

I would add my own RAM and SSD to the final build.
If we add shipping both comes down to $4300.

Regarding performance wise, it is a no brainer that the SLI system is the better choice.
HOWEVER, I have owned a P775DM1-G and P775DM3-G with GTX 1080 from PCS and both had the same software issue:
If I was playing a gaming with DX12 API and G-Sync, the game had graphical corruption where there was a weird and annoying aftershadow at the edges of textures, like an extra, annoying layer of motion blur.
    Same problem with ASUS G703VIK.
No such issue with GT73VR, GT75VR, G703VI, Hp Omen 17 and Asus G752VM.
Because of this I am a bit worried that I would get another GTX 1080 from Clevo which has this G-Sync issue.
Also, I have heard that 80 FPS with a single card feels smoother than with an SLI system even with G-Sync because of issues with the SLI technology. Is this true ?
Also, the Clevo from PCS would come with factory Clevo BIOS, they are not Prema partner.
PCS also has some minor quality issues. At least my P775DM3-G (which was stolen during RMA shipping back) had a heatsink which did not have perfect contact which made the thermal paste to dry out in a week and the contact area on the heatsink was full of scratches and pits.

If I would go with the MSI, I would ask for LM repaste. How precise are the techs at HID regarding a repaste like this? The ASUS laptop in my signature is using TG Conductonaut and achieving perfect temps with this was a nightmare. To get best performance, where there is minimal difference in temps between cores took several attemps on repaste. It took several hours to make the heatsink perfectly flat so there would not be 5-10C difference between cores.
Will HID go through the same effort? Or they consider the repaste "acceptable" even if 1 of the cores run 5-10C higher than the rest of them ?
The MSI laptop would also come with a single VGA, so performance would be much lower, however on the software side (BIOS and WIndows software) the MSI would be better in my opinion.
However the MSI would only come with 1 year warranty while the Clevo would have 2 year.

Which one would you choose and why ?

Bottom line (from what I've read)

    1. MSI GT75 has the better screen & keyboard
    2. Clevo P870 is the king BUT only with the Prema bios.

I think that about sums it up. :)

Quick edit: HIDevolution is just plain awesome.

If you buy the Clevo P870 Tm from HIDevolution, you are guaranteed the Prema Bios.
You should be able to overclock good Cpu 8700k samples to the same amount as desktop systems can go (desktops will only pull away when you start throwing AIO's and water/sub zero cooling into the mix).

Yes, the BIOS would be better if I buy from HID instead of PCS, but is it so much better that it worth dropping a 2nd GTX 1080 for a single GTX 1080 for the same price?
If I would go with a single VGA system my heart would rather pull toward MSI, it just looks and feels more premium and probably the components on the motherboard are higher quality also.

If you don't plan to mod the system I'd say go with the MSI. For installing custom cooling and/or extreme performance modding go with the P870. As far as the quality of the parts between the 2 I can't speak to that since I've never owned an MSI product but they do seem popular.

With either choice I'd stay with HID since they have a great sales team and they do quality work.
