Hello guys, I have recently bought myself MSI gs63vr 7rf and later found out that a lot of people recommend to do a clean windows install to get rid of not needed bloatware that is messing with the laptop is this true? I also have experienced some unusual drain of pc specs and I wondered is it because of the bloatware thats how I came around the idea of doing a clean windows install.

    Thank you for your answers.

I did with my new GE65. Not so much because of not liking the OEM installation, as I hadn't had a a lot of time yet to play with it. Did a clean install mainly because while uploading the programs I was going to want to use with the new rig, I somehow got a trojan that Defender didn't catch and couldn't quarantine.

First, be sure to check MSI support to see what they have as far as model specific drivers and Bios.

I opted not to back up the MSI recovery partition that puts the laptop back to factory condition. Wishing now I had, just in case, for some currently unforeseen reason I might want to restore it later. So think about that.

Consider what MSI programs you would want to reinstall afterwards and see if they're available as a separate download.

I haven't found anything yet for being able to set up a fan speeds profile that works with these new Intel CPUs besides Dragon Center, so I've kept it to use specifically for that purpose.

Then determine what devices the installed Windows drivers are doing an acceptable job with and what device specific drivers you'll want to replace Windows drivers with and have fun(not) configuring all that.

The stock OS is pretty clean and there isn't much of bloatware.
All drivers and utilities are already available on MSI's website for your model, however it is recommended to create the ISO files of recovery discs from the system first before doing a clean install.
