    Hi there,

My MSI GS60-2PC has awful battery life, I'm looking at about an hour of usage w/ WiFi enabled before the thing is dead. I have 60% wear on my battery, and after opening up my laptop to clean it, I noticed my battery is bulging.

I contacted MSI, and unfortunately they do not have any of my batteries in stock, but since it's a generic battery I can purchase one online.

Is there a certain place I can get a genuine/safe battery? The one's on Amazon are slightly expensive, but I'm worried about shady websites.

Some advice: If your laptop battery is bulged, immediately replace/remove it. It is a fire hazard and can cause injuries if it bursts !

If your battery is indeed bulging and you are within the warranty period, MSI has no right to say that they are out of stock and it is under law and your right to demand a new fresh laptop if they are indeed out of stock, or at least have them rush out a new battery to you. Do not accept their excuse if you are within the warranty and exercise your rights as a consumer.

If you are out of your warranty however, you may have to wait until MSI can accomodate for you. If you can take apart the laptop and look at all the information on the battery it should have its serial number or part number that you can search up online to buy another

It's integrated battery, MSI will still provide a RMA# for you to send the system back for repair.

Good work. How long did your old battery last before it started going bad?

About 2.5 years, I had noticed some warping underneath the laptop. Turns out multiple cells were bulging in the battery

2.5 is a long time, did the bulging cause any damage to the chassis at all?

There is some minor lingering warping but everything appears fine still
