The other thing that sucks with the ASUS SCAR is that they left out the camera....I mean I only use Zoom on my laptop once a week but it seems kind of dumb for me to spend $3k on my main device and not have a camera for Zoom in this COVID world. I know i can buy an external one but what a hassle. MSI has a camera.

Yes, you can always wait for the next greatest thing. Plenty of people on the interwebs make fun of that. But the 3080 laptops JUST came out so i think it's ok to wait to see what all the manufacturer's come out with unless you need to buy something rightnow. Lenovo is still coming out with their Legion 5 and 7. And I have to believe that some of these other brands WILL switch over from 10th gen intel to AMD Zen 3 or at least 11th gen intel. That's worth waiting a few months (again if you don't need one right now), IMO.

The best one right now would be the zephyrus duo crossflashed with the Ge76's 150w 3080M vbios.

That way you get a ryzen cpu and a 150w 3080M

Yes but only 15,6“ and you must love the design.

I would not worry about thunderbolt anymore as even a 1080 built in out performs a 3080 desktop card used via thunderbolt!

you just lose a ton of performance

I'm not a gamer so I don't really care, but is there any source to back this up? The new TB implementation seems much faster too:

The lenovo legion 7 will have AMD 5900hx and a 150+15watt 3080. And the screen will be 1440p 165hz, but it'll only be 100% sRBG while the ASUS is 100% DCI-P3, Lenovo is perfect but they f-d up the screen.

I'm very interested in this which is why i've waiting on pulling the trigger on the eluktronics max 17. Whenever i search for the Lenovo Legion 7 i only see the current lineup without any of these specs. Can you point me to where you find info on the new Legions? And they coming out in April or closer to June? I'm pretty sold on the Max 17 and not worried about the 5800h vs 5900hx at this point. Some detailed reviews put the performance difference at 4%. I'm ok with that.

Here you go, straight from the horse's mouth: https://news.lenovo.com/pressroom/p...-goes-all-out-new-futuristic-gaming-machines/
    and a second source:
    https://neofiliac.com/product/2387/lenovo-legion-7-16

All leaked sources also confirmed 100% sRBG only. Complete let down.

Edit: Ah damn, the Eluktronics 17s are all only sRBG too. I can't win. I just want MAX-P with Ryzen 9 5900hx (or 5980hx, rwar!) 4k screen at 500+ nits and 100% Adobe RBG or DCI-P3.

Yeah i watched the presentation and got all the info on the Legion. 100% waiting on that and buying it the second preorders come up. I don't care at all about RBG/DCI-P3 etc. Just need Ryzen cpu, 3080 with high TGP, 1440p screen, advanced optimus is a bonus. Sorry your perfect laptop isn't being made. I see your posts all over the net lol. But thanks for help in pointing me to the Legion. Perfect laptop for me. Hopefully the price is reasonable.
