Are you browsing on a regular computer or via a mobile device? The post window should appear at the bottom of the topic you are in*

I'm browsing on a laptop right now. I'm also not sure if a post and a thread are the same thing. I'm very new to these kinds of sites so i don't have much experience using them

I should have quoted -=$tR|k3r=- but he corrected it so no worries.

On the GE75 with the 2070 how can you tell if it's the Max Q or the full version?

Have one reserved for pickup tomorrow.

That's a good question. At the very least the box and all marketing should explicitly say Max Q, and perhaps the model of the GPU if you use GPUz might have a different designation. Not completely sure since I haven't used them myself, yet.

They aren't making it easy to make an informed purchase.

All the marketing on the official MSI site says that it's a 2080 full, Not a max-Q for the Raider GE75

The way the Raider series appears to be marketed, is that they contain the full 2070 and 2080 RTX chips. They differentiate to the Stealth series which have MaxQ cards, thinner form factor, smaller power bricks, etc. Stealth being more aimed towards portability and less power consumption, whereas the Raider series aimed at hopefully better thermal performance due to their thicker size, giving reason to include full RTX chips.

In a review video above, the GPU manages to stay at 74°C which is superb, but yet again the CPU seems to heat up into the 90’s.

Curious to see what improvements can be achieved with different thermal pastes, throttling etc. I have high hopes for this device considering its cost compared to the Stealth series.

I hope it's the full version, if not I'm sure it's going to be a big step up from the 970m

In GenTechPC’s video he shows the Device Manager which displays it as ‘Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080’ and does not show MaxQ anywhere.

Surely if they included the MaxQ version without advertising it, they would cop a lot of flak from the consumer base.
