Yeah my clocks are always 3.9ghz because I did the imon slope change in BIOS, so it tricks the system into thinking it's using less power than it actually is, so I am permanently in turbo clocks. However! These days the ambient temps are so hot that I am on borderline throttling temps. Since my GS75 is all aluminum, it gets very hot to the touch by basically doing nothing as well, my "idle" temps and low usage temps raise significantly to 60-70 celsius and GPU around 56 celsius.

This isn't the fault of my notebook, but man, with 34-36 Celsius temp inside the room at my desk... and this is at night hahaha. I was playing risk of rain the other day and my CPU temps were in the 92Cs with CPU fan at 90%.

A good paste, and a good paste job do make a difference. But for me the most limiting factor right now is very hot ambient temps. Luckly I run at 100% full performance despite them :)

Earlier in this thread somebody mentioned having to repasting the subcomponents vrm and vram, everytime you remove the fans and shields.

I have no idea what that means. Post is from May 16, 2019
