    Hi,

I'm shopping for a gaming laptop around the $2k mark. My two top contenders as far as spec are right now below.

The Asus is slightly more expensive, but the GE66 doesn't have any recent options with the RTX2070 super. The only option is an older model with slower RAM/CPU.

Overall, any red flags on these or things that we can't see in the spec, like thermal performances?

    Any advice is appreciated.

They're pretty comparable. I can't speak for the Asus' thermals. The GE series MSI laptops are a little thicker than their GS counterparts and have better cooling. There's a large thread on the GE66 where you can ask questions to owners.

You might want to fill out our FAQ so we can provide some targeted advice. There might be some other models worth considering.
