Hey, tried my best searching all over the internet for some results of this combination but haven't found any solid evidence whether it'd work or not. All I know is the msi 7970m probably has enduro and my laptop doesn't have enduro supported, but I'm curious if it may still work or if I can flash the HM bios onto it which supposedly works for the dell 7970m on 1761s. Any experience or insight is appreciated, thanks!

Could you please point me in a direction? I've searched using forum tools and google for probably upwards of an hour, maybe longer. I am also limited to using an old blackberry to search, so if I missed something I blame that. :) edit: I've searched further on google just using site:notebookreview.com "msi 7970m" 1761 GT780 amongst other similar search phrases and still cannot find anyone saying they've tried it and whether or not it works. Several have asked about it, but the response is just to use a dell 7970m, but I don't have one at my disposal. For whatever reason the search function just simply doesn't work on the forums, but I assume the results are identical.

Bump. Can say with an almost certainty this topic hasn't been solved on these forums or any other forums visible to google. I'm just interested if someone has flashed a non enduro vbios to the MSI 7970m from the gx60.

This is not a very helpful comment! It can be hard to locate information at times.

If you know some knowledge. Please help!

To the OP I would like to help but I know nothing about MSI laptops. Hopefully someone will chime in soon. We usually do around here :)

    Thanks King :)

Anyways, little update, got the card a little under a week ago in the mail finally and it works fine, had to blind flash with the old dell vbios for the 7670m that's floating around. Blind flashing without knowing the command to boot off a USB was stressful, but through some trial and error I got it to flash and it worked instantly. I initially was trying to navigate the start up settings blind, but realized I could just hit F11, and I removed both hard drives and I was able to figure it out from there. I hope I never have to do this again! Seems to be running as it should, as far as I know.

Congrats abtabdn, it's good to know that the 7970m works on the 1761. By the way, you didn't really flash a 7670m vbios, did you? ;)

Ha, oops. Good catch, If I had actually flashed a 7670m vbios I suppose I wouldve written quite a bit different of a post. Thanks for the congrats. Its nice when things work out for once.

Yeah well done man! The 7970M is a fantastic card. Keep it running cool and it runs like a champ. I keep mine under 70C when gaming! I recommend undervolting it to 0.975V at stock 3d clocks (850/1200). If you like I can send you the vbios. You have a dell 7970M?

Anyways the card at stock clocks can still blast through games wonderfully especially when kept cool. The drivers finally are nice and mature! Tonight I replayed FC3 and I was very impressed. It has never run better even when I used to OC it!
