Probably, AMD has shown no interest in the laptop GPU space.

Likely another few years of Nvidia drastically overcharging us.

I wonder if AMD could build on Apple's success with the M1 ARM chip which includes integrated GPU. AMD and Intel already have integrated GPUs or APUs. But the current chip sets really can't handle heavy gaming without a discrete GPU. The current Apple line is looking like Apple is moving away from discrete GPUs. One of Max Tech's videos suggested that the M1 GPU cores provide an equivalent or better experience to the current line of mobile Radeon chips being used in Macbook Pros. Who knows.

AMD has not come to play ball in the mobile space in nearly 10 years. The last Great War was between the 7970M and 680M in 2012. Sad really

Running Windows through BootCamp with the Radeon 6770M in my 2011 MacBook Pro made it a more capable gaming laptop than you might think. Heck, even the games that had macOS ports ran surprisingly well.

It was rumored and discussed on the roundtable that the laptop guys did, that that AMD isn't planning any GPU above the 6600M, so this 6700M talk is new to me.

None of it will matter anyway, if they are as late getting these GPUs to manufacturers as they were the 5000M series. That is why Nvidia wins, because come CES the OEMs know that Nvidia will be there with shiny new GPUs for them to market at the trade show, even if the laptops don't launch until March.

The 7970M died with a whimper because of the Enduro mess. Disaster.

The 6970M vs the 680M the year prior was when it was interesting. I chose the 6970M for my Clevo over the latter, because the price difference was stupid for the small increase in performance. It was what, a desktop 6850 and could overclock like mad? Good times.

And yeah 10 ears later they haven't had a single compelling product. It's embarrassing.

No enduro in my machine 7970M/8970M still gets driver updates and in the long haul, surpassed the 680M

you are thinking of 6970M vs 580M, which was another fairly close competition. I was also team 6970M once upon a time ;)

Nope we're both wrong haha, 6970M went against the 400M series, so it was was 6970M vs 470M and 485M.

My memory is getting bad as I age.

    My M17x R3 was configurable with a 6970M or 580M
