Well, HP does sell an Omen 15 with an RX 460, but it's China-exclusive. I don't know if it is still on the market, though.

Yes it's ODM/OEMs who haven't chosen to build many systems with mobile Radeons, but it's AMD's fault they haven't had a compelling product or even a reputation for support. I still see the odd thread from a 8970M owner saying they've had driver niggles ever since day 1 - the seller/reseller is ultimately responsible for a faulty product under statutory warranty in countries/jurisdictions with that kind of consumer protection and I can imagine they would also view AMD mobile based products as an added risk.

Bit of a fail for gecube to not make sure the RX480 MXM hardware wasn't developed to be compatible for drop in gaming laptop upgrades out of the 'box'. Clevo EC, screen EDID compatible, etc. I can't understand who else would be their target market?

I hate to play that card, but you see a market entirely flooded by nGREEDIA and they had/have their fair share of screw ups. So it's really the ODM/OEMs to be blamed for bending over to nGREEDIA and this is precisely what I was implying in the post above.

I'm not going to buy an Nvidia product next time around for my daily driver.

AMD really changed my opinion of them with the m8900, M5100, and r9 290x and I want to continue to support them.

I don't want a bga laptop, but I don't exactly desire the Phoenix 3.0 either. So I'm a bit stuck lol

When OEM's become sensible and put proper AMD technology into a laptop (CPU and a GPU)... then I'll upgrade my current 8 years old Acer (so, hopefully this year).

    Lol... well, depends.
I'm ok with getting news updates on all AMD products... and while we see that in the case of Ryzen and Vega... very little is being thrown about on mobile hardware

Indeed, feels like AMD have given up on mobile... I don't mind but they really need to nail, the desktop side to have any hope!

Really ? On NBC they did not mention that it would be exclusive for Indonesia in their news. Would be interesting to see if ASUS did a better job with the AMD CPU+GPU combo than Lenovo did with the Y700.
