How exactly did you pull this off? I am just curious if I can do something similar with a 1070.

By using coolane's tool, then using a USB SkyPro SPI programmer , 1.8v adaptor and a 8 pin SOIC test clip.

@Khenglish did find laser cut on kepler core but not on maxwell core
You can also use a CH341A with "1.8v adapter" programmer, it work fine too while being cheaper :)

RTX cards at the moment can’t be hardware flashed and work. You will have to use another manufactures vbios for now until the issue with hardware flashed RTX vbios are fixed.

Thx for the fast reply, so I can try the Asus bios mentioned in the other thread and flash it with Nvflash?

I wouldn't do cross flashing different vbioses on notebooks. The risk of frying your unit is too high in my opinion.

Hi guys, i have an MSI GS65 with a 1060, the tdp is 60W so i was trying to find a bios with a little higher TDP (70-80w), i found the razer but after i flash it the pc freezes after a while and doesnt detect the card well, so i went back to stock.

This is what GPU-Z shows after flashing razer or xiaomi vbios

I've found a lot of mobile bios but their size is 256kb and my stock bios is 166kb, if i flash one with bigger size would it be a problem? Thanks in advance.

What is your stock Device ID? I can't get my 1070 Max Q to read any other BIOS file either, I tried 50+ from techpowerup.
