    You could get the ch413a programmer and a clip and that's all you need. Can confirm

    You shouldnt spend 30 bucks on something that is outdated and when something can be used that is cheaper, surprisingly it works on our mobo bios too

    I have a little question with the 1080 max q alienware 15.

    What do you think should be a safe present for the 1080 max q? Vrm design seems to be equal than the 1070.

    Maybe 1080 MB has different semiconductors in VRM, rated for higher currents, with lower losses.

    What would you consider to be safe limits? 1080 limits should be higher than 1070 in my opinion..

    difficult to say. ud have to look up the SKU of the chokes and mosfets, dig up their data sheets online and then calculate the amperage theyre able to deliver, in dependency of their temperature.

    Amazing.

    I have to happily say that the Nvidia TDP flash with programmer went without any problems, I went to max. 130W during testing max. draw on GPU and max. 88C (!) on GPU temperature in process.

    Power limit slider in MSI Afterburner is now unlocked and works.

    The card still down-clocks by 13 Mhz every few celsius (not as agressively as before), however I have not seen power limit flag and down-clocks in very complex game graphical situations, where I used to stutter, now all is smooth.

    Also, where I was 55-58 FPS I am now 60 FPS (with framerate cap+no V sync.)

    My (tested stable) current MSi afterburner values went form 1703/ +400/ 0.812V/ 75C max. to 1843/ +400/ 0.850V/ 70C max. Yes, the temperature value is correct. No clue. Fans the same RPM as before flash.

    Will test this a bit more, because all seems too good to be true. I am on latest XtremeG laptop driver XG 419.67 Mobile CRD WIN10 x64 (definitely keeper, games play smooth and stable.).


    I am waiting to receive a 330W PSU soon, so then I will have some more 'no worries about 180W PSU' headroom. I have no battery discharge during games. I turned BD PROCHOT in TS back on for safety of Nvidia VRMs, but saw no CPU clock drops under 3400 Mhz.

    I realised I have 2 nvmes each goes to 10W during full load, CPU 35W running between 3400-3800 Mhz in games, GPU spiking to 130W, wireless headphone USB 'stick', pretty hungry screen, default fans, 32 Gig memory ...
    all this wants power. I am sure if i cancel all undervolts, my PSU would die pretty soon, or I would get system stability issues.

    Total investment: all ordered from within Europe: 47,70 EUR 330W PSU, 22.89 EUR Board clip, 96.25 EUR programmer, 12.48 adapter 1.8 V. I could get all this stuff cheaper from China (also Europe), but delivery end of April is nonsense. Took 4 days to get everything.

    Total: 180 EUR incl. post.
