AMD's top end mobile card is probably not going to be full Polaris 10. That means it'll be worse than the RX 480. And as a top end card, I expect over $500 USD for it. But the nVidia card under it, (970M in this case) is about $450 for the gsync model. If a 1070M is even $500, and it's stronger, then there is just no reason to choose from AMD's line. That's my issue. They need a RX 480 in MXM without downclocks for about $350 or so to make people really consider them... they won't be very overclockable, so if a 1070M is equal, more overclockable, and only slightly more expensive, especially if people are going to make custom vBIOSes for it, people are going to jump down its throat.

AMD's top end mobile may not be based on full chip, but that doesn't mean it will be significantly slower and will most probably cost less than $500. We have to remember that RX 480 is a midrange chip by itself and there is absolutely no sense to charge so much for it in mobile. If I remember correctly, when AMD transitioned to 28nm, the 7970M was much cheaper than 680M and somehow even cheaper than 675M, while it was based on desktop second tier card 7870. This P10 is not even second tier, but third, so even more reasons to price it competitively.

I'm nostradamusing that RX M490X will be slightly slower than 980, slightly faster than 1070M and about $100 cheaper, so not that bad of a deal. But only time will tell, so let's wait and see :)

Sounds like MS's new console is going to be using some form of GTX 1070/80 with GDDR5X -
"All games will be playable on Windows 10, Xbox One, and Project Scorpio so "no one gets left behind." The console will deliver 8 CPU cores and 320+ GB/s memory bandwidth."

Either that or AMD is planning some new GGDR5X hardware or severely cut down HBM1?

I don't see where in that article they mention Nvidia, all previous rumors pointed at AMD, since they are miles ahead in making APU's, specially with zen around the corner, more chances of it being Zen+polaris or Zen+Vega.

And they may very well chose GDDR5x over HBM if it is a custom chip, as it may be cheaper, they'll need to cut corners to keep the console price low.

Edit: Anandtech just put up an article ;)

Why do people even run 3DMark11 P scores any more especially on a high end GPU and get all googly eyed? It's 720p for crying out loud! WHO CARES!? I mean people are clamoring for 4K. Show me 3DMark Fire Strike at least.

Why bench with Win 7 with a possible new card? Everyone know Win 7 provide a higher total score with 3DM11. Only for blowing up the score?
    This is fake...
