GPU-Z still reports PCI-E at 1.1, while AMD GPU still says 2.5GT/s.

    Unless I'm missing something.

    @SpunkGamer
Are you on the 10.10a hotfix?

Just installed them. Everything seems to be working wonderfully.

Just Cause 2 Benchmark (Dark Tower) all High Settings, water on Very High, AAx2 AFx2

    10.8 Drivers: Average 64.89FPS
    10.10 Drivers: Average 67.87FPS

    Approximately a 5% improvement :)

This problem can't be fixed. G73jh chipset can't go higher than PCI-E 1.1. On the 10.8 and lower versions of catalyst was problem with bandwidth. It was report PCI-E 1.1 but speeds was only about 650MB/s. Now it is fixed and VGA works at 3GB/s. You can check it with this: http://download2-developer.amd.com/amd/GPU/executables/PCIeSpeedTest_v0.2.zip

Here is something about it: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...0973-mobile-catalyst-10-9a-7.html#post6815245

I'm not sure that the 5870m saturates the pci-e 1.1 bandwidth.

    With a 128Bit Bus, I doubt it.

128bit is the VGA bus memory between VGA and vRAM, not VGA-CPU. Since the memory is ddr5, a faster bus it's unnecessary. Older graphics cards with ddr2 or ddr3 rely on this bus speed for performance. For 5870m, ddr5 is a way faster than older iterations.

I have reran Crysis Warhead scenes I made in a vid with 10.6 Leaked drivers again with this 10.10 ccc.

There are specific areas that do give me a clear bump ~2FPS and when you're running mid 20s to mid 30s, I'd say they are on the money with that projected increase. (if it's 10.6 to 10.10 ;))

Lost Planet runs fantastically well at DX9.

Tessellation isn't an AMD problem, it's an Nvidia issue. AMD when they designed the Tessellation unit, designed it to be done right, not for being idiotic like Nvidia.

BOTH Nvidia and AMD GPU are quad processing, meaning they process everything in quads, 2x2 pixels. AMD tessellation units work on this basis also.

Nvidia for whatever stupid reason, can't think of any good reason other than to be stupid, their tessellation is running at 1 pixel. But for your eyes, you can't see any different since the GPU itself is still a Quad processor. So that means the tessellation unit is doing 4 TIMES the work for only 25% of the result. Tessellating what you can't see visually, it's unfathomably stupid.

You may disagree with me, but I personally believe 100% with AMD, this is an issue of game developers being idiots going along with Nvidia's imbecile, and frankly, infantile requests just to spite AMD users. Greed at it's worse for PC industry.
