Wondering if anyone has the 2016 MBP with 2.9ghz i7 and the AMD 460 and who plays FFXIV and Wow. Looking to see how it handles those two titles specifically (the only real games I play when I travel otherwise stick to console). Decent FPS (40-50), no stuttering, etc? Obviously not expecting anything above 1080 (maybe that's even pushing it), but the games are unplayable on my mid 2014 rMBP with the Nvidia 750m card (more so FFXIV than Wow), even with all settings on low or off. While they will load and I can move around, the lag and stuttering is near to unplayable, and that's just in an open environment, much less a dungeon or raid. Would appreciate any insight people may have, and if you are playing, what settings do you run? Thanks in advance.

remember that the amd 460 is kneecapped at 35 watts

oh and don't forget that any kind of load on the CPU or GPU will make temps go to 99c

WoW runs fine under OSX and temps are in the 80's for the CPU and 70's for the GPU on my 2016 2.9 / 460. With the Metal framework, performance has increased drastically IMHO.

    I can't speak for FFXIV.

And the 750m is a glorified 650m which was introduced in 2012 on the Retina. It is pretty archaic.

The 460 is 3x+ more powerful than the 750m (+/- gaming environment) and full Metal support is a given.

750m clocks in at about ~1700 on Firestrike
460 clocks in at about ~5200 on Firestrike

Im thinking for FFXIV it might be a bit weak still on higher settings and busy maps. Bootcamped with a 965m which is a bit faster, was good for medium settings @ 1080 @ 40-50fps from one other thread on here. ( I am not a gamer so no first hand experience )

We are talking about a card that is still a lower midrange in line with the older 965m/870m chips. yes its far better than the antique 750m for certain.

Nice, thanks for the info guys, appreciate it. KCE - can you point me to that thread you mentioned above for FFXIV? If it can pull 40-50 FPS at 1080 with no stuttering, I'd be ok with that.

Thanks for the link electrosoft - those are much better results than I was expecting in WoW. If I could just find something like that for FFXIV, I'd be set lol.
