I thought it was a good idea to update my BIOS from F0.A to F17.

    What a misstake !
I am now stuck with the fan constant running and I have checked some other threads and found that you can switch this off in the BIOS.
I have checked and it is already switched off !!!!

I tried to restore to go back to the old BIOS but it seems I am f****d. Not possible.

    HELP !

Are there tricks to go back to the original firmware.
What to do? Are there third party software that can stop the fan turning all the time. It is really annoying

I just find a little app called RM clock that might be a solution...

Any 6910P users that have an (good) experience with this ?

See this thread for some patched bios tools to allow backtrack of the bios.

Another way you could do it is via BIOS emergency recovery. It requires a USB floppy drive. Save the old bios as 69MCU.BIN on a floppy, reboot, press the four arrow keys, OR WIN+B on reboot, the numlock LED will flash and the floppy will read and the system proceed to load the old bios. After a few mins of doing the flash, it will automatically reboot.

Must be a USB floppy. Doesn't work with USB stick. See HP BIOS RECOVERY instructions.

sorry to bother you I am a bit stupid :)

When I download the old bios it is a file in .exe format.
Should I rename it to a .bin ? I have run the exe file which writes some files to a folder swsetup but cannot find anything as you mentioned above
