does anyone know when multipi will come out. Superpi's importance is diminishing quickly as it is a single threaded application and so does not take advantage of the dual-core processors sold in today's systems. It is for this reason that multicore processors do not completely outclass similarly clocked single core processors ( which they should). Super pi is only useful in determining how well your computer will run single threaded applications, however there is an increasing amount of software that is multi threaded. If you have a multicore processor you should receive better performance using multithreaded applications.
    hope this helped :)
