I've scoured the internet to get this info to no avail. They just state the speed but not how many devices can connect simultaneously.

How many devices can one connect simultaneously to a USB-A port and a USB-C Gen 1/Gen2 port?

Additionally, what USB hub is recommended for connecting many devices? I would like one which has its own power so it's not limited with the max power draw from the laptop's port.

I found this one, but not sure if there's anything better perhaps: https://www.amazon.com/Charging-Ada...8&qid=1449792963&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+7+port

I also remembered the number was 127, but didn't know why

Just imagine having 127 external HDDs all running at once tho! The insanity would be hubris!

So that number is for USB 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2?

I don't think it changes with the USB Standard, it is like this due to motherboard limitations AFAIK, no one thinks anyone is going to need more, so they were never implemented.

Speed drops the more you add though, around 10 is the max to use at max speed, because it tends to throttle the motherboard itself
