    ^It was! It was intense!

I just love that I could watch a live stream of a rover landing on another planet 330 million kilometers away, ONLINE, but I couldn't watch the Olympics online.

The Olympics are significant in its own way as a true forum for all countries around the world to truly come together: where else will you run into North Korean athletes competing alongside American athletes?

But the Curiosity landing was stunning as well, and commanded quite a bit of attention from national media too. The heavy traffic that NASA's sites received is a testament to that. Hopefully this bodes well for space exploration funding in the future.
