hi agiletoddy, i am realizing that your last post is from last year october, so it is quite a while, so I dont know if this topic is still on, but anyway I might just carry on writing in case you checked back again.

so downloaded your napp from rapidshare, put it on cd, tried to extract some .wim files from within, one said 4errors while extracting, like 4files couldnt be extracted, it said some like they were broken ...esent.dll or some like dat,???
so i said i might just burn the iso anyway, it might be with the extracting software, so i burned the iso, burning went ok, put cd in drive all files were in there..
burned the swcd.dat on blank cd too. and off i went for a recovery

rebooted, from napp cd, i chose the language, then the partition size, then it started the process, but then at some stage, during the process, i had an error cycle redundancy check at about 73% from the winre.wim copying, never mind i pressed ok then went on with the rcd#1 rcd#2 scd#1 swcd#1(but in fact your swcd.dat since cant get the swcd, i tried googling or p2p but cant find it, I dont know if you still have it?that would be cool to post it??) then after process finish, reboot, etc, and at some stage another error, i dont remember exactly when, but error stated some like ...winre something missing, etc , i dont even remember wat the error said but anyway, presses ok, then the installation went on, then finally on to windows,
it finished the process, at some stage a cmd windows came up saying

    1 file copied,
    cannot find the path specified,
    cannot find the path specified,
    recover

then it went on, etc etc...

so when installation completed, i rebooted to test the alt f10 function but it didnt work( and yes i see you comin,, i DID enable D2D in BIOS), but i got an error saying like cannot boot into operating system error 0x00000f something..

so did you have same problem? i guess not otherwise you wouldnt have posted the files.

i thought maybe in the splitting some went wrong, and it corrupted the iso maybe? so maybe if you could send it whole not splitted like Peter88po did ??

i tried googling for napp cd or p2p but same no luck:( and Peter88po file not available anymore.

so pleaaase , could you send everything again for us ?
    NAPP (whole not splitted),
    SWCD (whole not splitted),

    big thank you!!:D

apart that, everything went smooth, but it is just that somewhere in the nappcd.iso there was something corupted (maybe in the splitting) , sometime it happens (especially with hidden files, or protected system files which get left behind in the process), it doesnt mean it is this time but just a guess, OR if you know the cause you could advise us...

anyway thanks a lot for your help and understanding.

btw i called acer and they re useless, so im on my own with just RCD#1, RCD#2 and SCD#1:(

hi i have used your napp disc on acer 6920g i have 3 recovery discs using your napp i know the first 2 are rcd#1 and rcd#2 i belive the third is software disc but when i am asked to put scd#1 into my drive this disc is ejected and a message (insert correct disc) is displayed. i have since got hold of 3 backup discs for the 5920 but i get to the same stage (insert correct disc) for scd#1 using the 5920 discs.
can you tell me what the scd#1 is please
    thanks

    Hi there....
Am hoping that this thread is still active.
Does anyone know the contents of SWCD.WIM. This file is located in the Autorun folder of "pqservice partition (Aspire 5920)".

You probably need to be an 'Administrator' to do this. Don't do it to a works machine without permission, unless you like being unemployed.

GOOGLE 'Download 7z' and install it - which will read .wim Windows Image files.

To access your PQSERVICE partition, right-click Computer (My Computer), Manage, Storage, Disk Management.

The first partition of several GB in size is the PQSERVICE recovery folder. Right click and change drive letters to something unused, e.g. 'P'. This unhides the partition to Windows.

    Exit the management console.

If for some reason (like an XP WIN32 formatted partition) this is not possible, GOOGLE 'Download EASEUS Partition Master" and install it. It works in a similar way to the Windows Disk Management tool above. Not difficult to use. (Hint - right-click Advanced Menu). EASEUS also do a free partition recovery application.

(If neither of these approaches work, sorry, there is something wrong with your partitions. Errors in partitioning are quite common, and are not always obvious, and badly set up partitions often work in the system they were set up on. Try a Linux live CD, e.g. Mint, and check out the various file managers, which should view "hidden" partitions. This is probably the least invasive way to get to copy a backup of the partition. Linux has various partition tools which give different results. Some Linux partitioning tools can cause problems for Windows NTFS volumes.)

Use Explorer to navigate your new PQSERVICE P:\ drive. Do not change anything unless you are prepared to take the consequences. A copy of the drive contents to another folder or hard drive is recommened, then you can remove the drive letter to hide the original partition.

When you find a .wim file use 7z to explore it. You can copy out bits you want, but do not remove anything unless you know what you are doing.

I am still checking out .swm and WISE Installation files.

If there is an install.wim and a boot.wim, then vlite can be used to bring together the necessary install files.

The driver install files .inf will be there and the drivers in the side by side winsxs folder catalogs.

ATG, if you still have that modified NAPP CD for the c110 it would be great if I could get a copy of it.

I have the recovery partition (ACERDATA) but the D2D boot partition (the little 8MB one) is hosed. When I look in the recovery partition I have the 3 large image files that would be used to restore the system if the D2D option worked. The 3 file names are:

    80A46Z12.ACR (640MB)
    80A46Z12.002 (640MB)
    80A46Z12.003 (253MB)

If I enable the recovery option in BIOS and then choose that from the boot menu, all I get is a black screen and blinking cursor. If I can get the D2D partition back then I think I can get my system restored. Any suggestions??

    Many thanks in advance!

Sorry to dig up such an old thread but I am interested in obtaining this napp cd you made for the TM C110 tablet. I'll understand if this is not possible. Thanks.
