Screenshot.png Screenshot at 2017-08-17 08:15:21.png I've always loved the look of OSX, (but not the dearth of software that appeals to me).
I'm pretty happy with Ubuntu Mate Linux with the OSX look using the package from Sourceforge:

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/macbuntu/files/latest/download

Just extract it, go into the extracted folder, and run the install.sh
(sudo, and don't forget to use the -force flag).

If using Ubuntu Mate, go to Control Panel > Look and Feel and select your theme in "Appearance", and move Titlebar buttons to the left in "Windows"

Also working well in MX 16.1 Linux

    Top screenshot is MX

What size should the sourceforge file be?

    I get a a g2gm.tar.gz file that is 10.6kb

If I explore, I file an entire iso that is 749mb

I really do not care for sourceforge.....ugh

Download on a Linux machine and it is 40mb
Download on a Windows machine and it is 10kb.

    I hate sourceforge
Or more the users...Put the darn thing in a file format that everyone can download without issues.

Linux people can be so frustrating and narrow thinking....Why would anyone using a Windows box ever want to download the Linux install bits.....UGH...

    mx 16

    terminal

    sudo install.sh no joy
    sudo install.sh -force no joy

People wonder why I have such an attitude over Linux. Why not a SIMPLE click and install?
Why such ridiculous hoops to do ANYTHING?

Doesn't Linux have executable files? Why bother to program stuff if you never finish it?

    Found the syntax on TBT

    sudo ./install.sh -force

    Checking Ubuntu version
    System not supported

drop the sudo on mx 16 and it seems to install.

Ha Ha ha Ha Ha -----------------------------------
Reboot after install and it ALL returns to standard as if Macbuntu was never installed....

lol, high requirements for some stuff that someone probably wrote in in undies and literally gave a way for free, with a license that states stuff like "not fit for any purpose" (assuming its gpl/bsd/mit licensed)

Require that it actually does something other than imitate a virus.

Now I need to format the entire drive. Easier to do that than clean up this leftover mess.

    Understood the free bit.
But I am done with Linux...No thanks
Too frustrating, too buggy, too many hoops to get general functionality out of it.
    I tried, I really tried

I tried it for about a year on this CF 53.
I can't mentally deal with the frustration any more. I know I have frustration issues now, but enough is enough.
I will put the Win7 drive back in.
A new theme wrote by a dude in his basement in his underwear and given away will still install on Win7 easily in 10 minutes with 3 clicks.
Being free software is NOT a valid excuse for the Linux crowd in my book. Claiming in the license that it is crap and useless is a cop out to not finish the work.

Oh and I tried to remove grub after mx16 installed it. Ha Ha ha ha..........
