Back to the Almighty Mac "Pro" for a min. I was watching youtube videos on the Mjesus compared to intel the other day and found a great video comparing some machines for my exact use case. Check out his results. The Puget system cost him 12k in 2018. The results are quite interesting. Mjesus is supposed to be faster than 99 percent of x86 based laptops sold in the same time frame. Also, the MacPro is supposed to destroy anything that crosses it's path.
So the first one, basic 4k resolve job. The Mjesus comes no where close to the xps, nor the two workstations. The real surprise is the Puget. Yep it's 12K in 2018, but his mac pro was 40k in 2020. NOT worth the gigantic apple tax.

Again the same thing. Mjesus cannot hold a candle to the xps 13, and the Puget "budget" box is hanging with the MacPro for 1/3 of the cost.

Here's where it gets interesting for the low hanging fruit. The mjesus is wheezing and coughing doing the 6k rip and takes close to 7 hrs to complete. Both intel based PC machines do it in a decent times. But check out that MacPro Cheese grater. Could not even complete the job. it just would not run it. WOW!
