Hello all, it has been a while since I posted. This time is me arriving late to the Precision 4800 party.

First and to the point, with the attached pictures, it is possible to know which cable and screen I require to upgrade my current screen from 1366x768 to 1080p? There is more than one option available for upgrading?

Hwinfo shows it is a LG Philips LGD033B, with name 156WH4 and dell part number 8HVVH

I bought this laptop not too long ago in a nice deal, the laptop is a bit beaten up but nothing to worry about. I even managed to get an undervolt of -100mv to the processor, which is quite something. Also managed to overclock the card thanks to a guide from the m4600 thread. The GPU feels just as good as my desktop now.

    Thanks in advance,

For that you'll need the 6G4XC / 06G4XC LVDS cable, and the only upgrade path i'm aware of, is the display my M4800 came with (LP156WFC-TLB1, Dell P/N DC9YJ / 0DC9YJ).

Not in this format, to my knowledge. The newer, "razor" / "slim" displays are much more plentiful (the ones with the mounting "ears" on the top and bottom edges), but that requires a new lid (and possibly video cable), as well.

"The lcd" = the fullHD LP156WFC-SLB1? I guess that depends where you live(?).

    Is it worth upgrading bios?
    Atm i am on A06.
I've read that the fans operate a bit different on the newer versions? Activated more often but in shorter periods.
Mainly the cpu fan starts when a combination of values hit 50c and stays on at ~2077rpm until the values goes down below 40c and turns off.
Some others are talking about their system being unstable after applying updates.
