Excellent screen. Beautiful colours and good viewing angles. Much, much better then the TN display of my old HP EliteBook 8540w

Sorry to kinda hijack this thread

I need info on some current and older precision laptops, need one with this capability

    PGA CPU socket+Full size MXM 3.0 (970M/980M)
Overclockable cpu using xtu/bios (iirc hm65/qm65 cannot do this)
    15" or 17" form factor
Core Cpu gen 2/3/4 is ok
    Full UEFI bios capability
Can fully bypass iGPU (turn off / turn on optimus, similar to FN+F7 on old alienwares)

What would fit the bill? Please give model number (ex: M6800) with year of production/launch.

    Thanks in advance.

M6800 would suit your needs due to the full sized MXM 3.0 slot. I'm not sure about the OC though.

    Hi guys,

Thanks to the hard work and help from NBR user valuxin who kindly modded the vBIOS for me, I have managed to overclock the FirePro M5100 in my M4800 to 930 MHz (stock 725 MHz) and the vRAM to 1375 MHz (stock 1125 MHz).

I will post a guide along with the modded vBIOS when I've verified everything is stable and functional on my M4800.

is there a way to undervolt or underclock my k2100m? My type of work isn't graphics intensive. Could I even remove the card and function on the built in intel HD or is that bios disabled on the QHD/4k ones?

I'm pretty sure that the high-DPI displays require the discrete GPU. If you don't see the switchable graphics option in the BIOS, then the Intel GPU cannot be used.

You can use NVIDIA Inspector to set the clock speed or power state to try and keep it running slow.

My left shift seems to be pretty hit or miss when I try to capitalize, I bought mine on ebay so I'm not sure how warranty would work

You would have to have the seller transfer the warranty to you. Or you could replace the keyboard yourself, easy and rather cheap.

Any of you guys using the 135w adapter? I have a ton left over from my older laptops. It's working fine with throttlestop (no slowness). I lost my kill a watt and am not sure how much my QHD 4800mq with k2100m is pulling.
