Not good, but unsurprising, what is support's options for you now?

Do you have high 90 degC GPU temps also?

I've posted numerous times when I first got my m4400 of this very exact issue. I think I was the first on the boards to get the m4400. I'm surprised it took this long for someone else to notice it. If you don't play intensive games on the notebook, you won't notice a thing.

I eventually returned it and am now waiting on a m6400. We'll see if that one has the same issues, but I'm pretty sure Dell knows of this issue since the tech guys seemed really interested in opening up my original and even went as far as re-routing my laptop to a special service center to do more research on the problem.

Depends on the notebook, you will have to use nVidia's ntune software to find the correct temp to start with and then change I8kfangui to match the temp ntune is saying....there are other apps you can use,but as nvidia make the GPU and ntune software,I trust their readings over anything else.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_5.05.54.00.html

I have to use a 7 deg offset to match ntune and my GPU sensor index is 3,using A02 bios

I've played a lot of games on the M4400 and it is yet to downclock.....I received mine around the same date as yourself.
Nyceis's downclocking is obviously heat related [98 degC] with extreme cpu,but a couple of the other guys who have downclocking are saying their Maximum GPU temps are lower than my [and Nyceis] idle temps, which is strange.

    Sydalesis.

We have Nyceis' system in route to the F/A team. Thanks, Nyceis.

Any chance you would be willing to swap yours out for a new one, and cross ship it back to the same engineers? If so, please PM me your daytime contact number, email addy, service tag and current ship to addy. Thanks.

After several gaming sessions on a03 i can say that throttling still happens but not very often, and not for long, and not regularly. It can happen after 1 hour of gaming but it flicks back to full perforance after 1-2 minutes. I dont know really what causes this.

Hopefully Dell-Bill is going to sort it out through his contacts for you.

BTW,have you tried A02,thats what I use and have never had it downclock in a game.
